Billy found the best seat in the house 😆. His first time in the salon, he came to watch his big brother being groomed. A great way to experience all the sounds, sights, and sensations of the salon.

A puppy's first visit to a groomer should be about early puppyhood development and life skills. So, the earlier we see them, the more time we have to develop the skills they need.

What kind of story does a muzzle tell your dog?

Often, a dog only encounters a muzzle when they are already stressed at the vet or overwhelmed at the groomer. It becomes a predictor of discomfort. But by introducing it and using the muzzle in different contexts, we can help to change that story.

Both Milo and I had a lot of fun building this skill. While he started out a little hesitant, you can see by the end we have him enthusiastically pushing into the muzzle

Do all dogs need muzzle training? Preparing for the "what-ifs" is always worth the effort, but the best part is that the training itself is just a brilliant way to get the brain thinking, learn problem solving skills and build a stronger relationship with you.

Giving dogs the opportunity to make their own decisions, especially during their first time at a grooming salon, can take time. But the reward is a much more confident pup!

The tricky part for Sunny was that food wasn’t enough motivation to get him to step into the tub. But the second we brought out a toy, everything changed and we had success 🙌🏼

It would be easy to just force him into the bath, but troubleshooting how to motivate a dog and watching them think through a challenge is always so rewarding to see.

My client intake has been closed for a long time, so I am pleased to share that a rare opportunity has just come up. I have a handful of spots opening this July for new pups to join my regular rotation.

My absolute priority is the comfort and mental wellbeing of the dogs in my care. Because consistency is the secret to a happy, stress-reduced grooming experience, these regular spots are reserved for owners who can commit to a maintenance schedule of 6 weeks or less.

This is perfect for you if you:

Want reliable 1-on-1 care where your dog is treated like family.

Love having your schedule booked out 6 months in advance so you can plan ahead.

Are flexible with days and times (available spots are mostly Thursdays or Fridays daytime).

Addi is back at the salon, and she continues to be an absolute superstar! She learns so quickly, and the work her owners have been doing at home to desensitise her to having her feet touched has made a huge difference to today's session.
While this is our first time working specifically on foot handling together, working on trust first for yhe first few sessions, combined with her owners' diligent work at home, has us about three steps ahead of where we expected to be. We are well on the road to confident nail clipping 😊

While I’m getting it all sorted, my reminder messages may get a little muddled—double-ups or no reminders may happen for a short while.
